Some of what keeps Missions Ablaze running cannot be bought with a donation. A vehicle that still has years in it. A month of diesel. A photographer for a kitchen day. A congregation willing to run a food drive.

Here’s What We Actually Need Right Now.

If you have a specific item, service or skill, these are the areas where a named gift moves the work forward this month.

  • Diesel

    $900 / R18,000 a month

    Keeps the vehicles collecting and delivering. Any amount helps.

  • Vehicles

    Bakkies, kombis, caddies. Every kilometre adds to the replacement schedule.

  • Vehicle maintenance

    $375 / R7,500 a month

    Panel beater, mechanic, tyre supplier. This is the line that stretches thinnest.

  • Photography and videography

    Kitchen days, partner stories, proof for donors. If you have the kit and the eye, we have the days.

  • Painting

    $3,000 / R60,000

    A once-off job on the base.

  • Medical services

    Check-ups for the team and for community members we serve.

  • Building maintenance

    $5,550 / R111,000 in total

    Gutters $2,000 / R40,000. Driveway repair $2,250 / R45,000. Front gate and electric motor $700 / R14,000. 2 geysers $600 / R12,000.

  • A mower

    $1,250 / R25,000

    Not glamorous. Still needed.

  • Eating area upgrade

    Tongaat main site. In planning, costing on request.

Dollar figures are converted at R20:$1. Section 18A certificates are available to South African taxpayers on qualifying in-kind gifts, valued per SARS rules.

    Tell us what you have

    Use the form, choose “I have a specific item or service to offer”, and give us the basics.

    We confirm fit and Section 18A eligibility

    If it fits, we say yes. If it does not, we say so and point you somewhere it will land.

    We arrange collection or delivery

    We are based in Tongaat and can collect across KwaZulu-Natal. Further afield, we will work the logistics out with you.

  4. 4

    You get acknowledgement

    And a Section 18A certificate where it applies.

If you're running a drive

When a Church, School or Team Mobilises, a Community Gets Fed.

If your church, small group, school or company team wants to run a drive, we will help you plan it.

Most useful to collect:

  • Non-perishable food

    Tinned goods, rice, maize meal, beans, long-life milk, cooking oil, sugar. The core of every drive.

  • Clothing

    Winter items first. All ages, all sizes. Sorted helps.

  • Holiday hampers

    Easter, Mandela Day, Christmas. We can tell you what makes a good hamper for the families we serve.

  • School supplies

    Stationery, uniforms, shoes. Useful, and best timed for the January and July intakes.

  • Hygiene items

    Soap, sanitary products, toothbrushes, toothpaste.

When you enquire we will tell you what is most needed that month. Stock levels and seasons shift.
